Still the Number One Skin Treatment

By Devon R. Monache

It has reached popular culture and is now known among the masses as the go to product for skin rejuvenation. Botox is simply the best and most popular cosmetic procedure in the world. It's safety record, and high satisfaction rating for results have made Botox the leader in cosmetic procedures worldwide. Botox is classed as a non-invasive procedure. There is no down-time from a procedure. You don't require and anaesthesia. And there is no going under the knife.

People Still Believe Wrongly

Although Botox treatments are so popular, there are still many myths surrounding the procedure. The popular media often portrays Botox, and those who seek it's treatment, in a poor light. Frozen faces of celebrities or the most extreme examples are often paraded out as examples of Botox as an extreme lifestyle choice. But these are often wrongly associated with Botox. A competent physician with experience in Botox will produce a more natural look suited to the individual patient. When administered carefully by an experienced practitioner there should be very little effect, if any, on the ability to produce natural facial expressions.

Frown Lines

The treatment of the frown lines between the eyebrows is one of the more common procedures where Botox is utilized. Patients and physicians target this area for a very good reason; getting rid of those frown lines makes you look younger.

When you inject the frown muscle with an adequate dose of Botox Cosmetic, it stops moving. So, in effect, the Botox makes the frown lines disappear. The frown muscle can no longer contract and thus can no longer wrinkle up the overlying skin.

This type of Botox procedure is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments in the world. The results are fast and the area is one that gets attention and notice. Since Botox was approved by the FDA in 2002 to treat frown lines, it's been estimated that 11.8 million treatments have been performed. Follow up studies have shown that greater than 90% of people who get Botox are satisfied with the results.

Despite their nature, it is not a difficult process to treat frown lines. It involves the physician injecting Botox directly into the muscles that cause those frown lines between the brows. No anesthesia is required because the needle is very tiny, the discomfort is minimal, and the treatment itself usually takes less than 5 minutes to perform.

The safety record is impeccable. The preparation used by clinics is a medical pharmaceutical which is manufactured under very stringent conditions. Once just for the well off, Botox has crossed that critical mass to enter into the mainstream. A middle class house wife or business executive is as likely to get this procedure as a supermodel or television personality.
